Our story
Six years in the making, and one evening to celebrate it all. Here is how we came to be — and everything you'll want to know before the twenty-seventh of September.
Our story
The long version, told the way we like to tell it — over a slow dinner, with the good wine open.
It began, as the best things often do, entirely by accident. A rainy Tuesday in the West Village, a corner bookshop closing in ten minutes, and a single copy of a novel we both reached for at once. Sebastian let it go; Genevieve suggested they settle it over coffee instead. The book went unread. The coffee lasted four hours.
The years that followed were quieter and better than either of us expected — a small apartment stacked with books, a standing Sunday dinner that grew to include half our friends, two cities learned by heart, and a hundred ordinary evenings that somehow added up to a life. Somewhere in all of it, the question stopped being whether and became simply when.
The when arrived on a balcony above the Amalfi coast last summer, at the hour the sea turns gold. There was a ring that had waited three weeks in a coat pocket, a speech that never made it past the first line, and an answer given twice for good measure. We have been grinning about it ever since.
Now we would like nothing more than to gather the people we love in one beautiful room and begin the next chapter properly. Below you'll find everything you need for the evening — the ceremony, the reception, what to wear, and how to reach us. We cannot wait to celebrate with you.

The details
Four o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday the twenty-seventh of September. Please arrive by half past three; a candlelit ceremony beneath the west windows will begin promptly at four.
Cocktails on the terrace from half past four, followed by a seated dinner and dancing in the Grand Ballroom of The Astor Court, 455 Madison Avenue, New York. Carriages at one.
This is a black-tie evening — floor-length gowns and dinner jackets, please. Dress for a night you'll remember; the ballroom more than deserves it, and so do you.
A block of rooms is held at The Carlyle under 'Ashford–Vance' at a special rate through the first of September. A complimentary shuttle runs to the Court throughout the evening.
We ask that phones and cameras stay tucked away during the ceremony. Our photographers will capture every moment — we'd simply love to see your faces rather than your screens.
Please send your response — for yourself and your named party — by the first of August, so we can finalise seating and the caterer's count. The RSVP page takes only a moment.
